Captain: "Our Armed Forces, beacon of national security and pride"
On the occasion of today's celebration of the Armed Forces, a day of honor for the men and women who serve the country, the Member of Parliament of Larisa of the New Republic, Christos Kapetanos, expressed his deep respect and gratitude to the personnel of the Armed Forces, recognizing the important work they do to ensure national sovereignty and defend the country's security.
Today's day, the Entry of the Virgin Mary, acquires special symbolism. The Virgin Mary, as the patroness of the Armed Forces, inspires with Her Grace and guides our officers in the difficult work they perform for the country.
"Greece is putting into practice the strengthening of the Armed Forces with substantial measures that change the course of our defense capability", emphasized Christos Kapetanos, highlighting the important initiatives that have been implemented in recent years.
The upgrade of the fleet and weapons systems, such as the acquisition of the new Rafale fighter jets, the Belharra frigates and the upgrade of the F-16 Block 70/Viper, strengthen our deterrent power and consolidate our national security.
At the same time, the modernization of military infrastructure, with the support of the Recovery Fund, creates high-quality living conditions for the personnel.
Strengthening human resources is also a priority, with the recruitment of new executives and supporting existing staff through salary increases, although much more needs to be done.
In addition, strategic interstate agreements, such as those with France and the United States, offer substantial shielding at the international level, making our country an important pillar of stability in the wider region.
Greece invests in the Armed Forces, highlighting their importance as guarantors of peace, security and our national independence.
Finally, Christos Kapetanos noted:
"Our Armed Forces are the soul of the country, the fortress of our peace and independence. Every day, but especially today, we express our gratitude to them.
Their offer is the guarantee for tomorrow, the answer to every challenge that tests our national rights.
As the Greek State, we continue to invest in their capabilities, because Greece deserves a well-equipped and well-prepared army."
Armed Forces Day is a day that reminds us that freedom, security and peace in our country are not taken for granted. They are conquests achieved through the unceasing duty and sacrifice of our military personnel.
